Judging Criteria

Women’s Angel Wings judging takes the following elements into account:

• Proportion – equal balance of development between muscle groups

• Symmetry – equal balance of development between each side of the physique

• Stage Presentation – ability to display healthy/fit/ toned physique during comparisons, marketability, skin tone, hair and make-up, costume selection, grace, marketability and confidence during quarter turn comparisons/i-walk.

Judging Round

Competitors are gathered off stage (off left).  At that point each competitor is introduced individually and asked to perform a Sport Model i-walk.  An i-walk consists of the following:

• Walking out to rear centre stage (intro point) and pausing briefly in a stance of choice

• Then walk up to the front centre stage (pause/pose)

A 20 second "5 point turn" at Centre Stage will be completed in Round 1 to provide the judging panel enough time to evaluate the physique of each athlete at that time.  (Must include at least one front facing, one side and one rear facing pose)

• Walk off stage (off left) so that the next competitor can be announced to perform their Sport Model I-walk.

Each competitor will have 20 to 30 seconds to complete their I-walk.

I-Walk:

Once all of the competitors have completed their presentation, the entire class will return to the stage (from off left), be instructed to the front stage in their front/relaxed pose (description of relaxed pose outlined below), and asked to complete the following quarter turns (turning right):

• Quarter turn Right (Right Pose)

• Quarter turn Right (Back Pose)

• Quarter turn Right (Left Pose)

• Quarter turn Front (Front Pose)

Mandatory Poses - Evening Gown

Description of Relaxed Pose (Front Pose):  Head facing front of stage, right hand on right hip, left hand hanging relaxed along side of body, left hip extended outward, right foot slightly angled outwards and left foot pointing forward.

Description of Quarter Turn Right - (Right Pose): Head facing judges as body, right hand on hip, left arm straight down, right leg bent at knee, left leg straight.

Description of Quarter Turn Right - (Back Pose): Feet no more then shoulder width apart.  Arms straight down along the side of your quads, hands placed on the front of your quads.  Back is open but not overly flared.  Hair is pulled to the side, if needed, to avoid obstructing back view.

Description of Quarter Turn Right - (Left Pose):  Head facing judges as body, left hand on hip, right arm straight down, left leg bent at knee, right leg straight.

The judges may ask to see certain competitors together and change the order of the lineup at any time during group comparisons, and may request to see certain poses again for closer comparison of select individuals. Please be sure to practice the quarter turns accordingly as improper execution of these poses may prevent the “best” physique from winning.
